I love life and it inspires me to paint. Through my medium of choice, oil on canvas, I challenge myself with the old-master’s technique with a personal and contemporary touch.
I fell in love with Africa during my first trip in Kenya. It was a revelation. I felt at Home, close to the people and their way of living in happiness, love and dignity. This feeling stayed with me for a long time.
I have been painting the beauties of Africa through its people hoping to transmit a lasting emotion to the viewer by showing a different aspect of this continent. I realize now that my need to paint this subject matter came from a very profound belief that the origin of human life on earth is in Africa.
I now feel a different inspiration which is pushing me towards the future. I have a strong conviction that WE ARE NOT ALONE. Trusting my instinct, I will attempt to represent my vision of what is possibly out there in the Universe. This is new territory. I am very motivated and excited with the challenge while going through a transition period right now.
My artwork has been seen and sold in public and private exhibits, galleries, books and a Museum. It is also part of private collections throughout Canada, the United States and Europe.
